Dreamhorse

I made this painting some years ago. I wanted to create an extraordinary horse painting, unlike any real horse, but still clearly a horse. This might sound a little abstract, and I guess the result fits that description well.

The horse on this painting resembles a dream horse. The painting depicts a beautiful blue horse, with wonderful manes. The blue and purple colors give the horse a dreamy look. This kind of “abstract” painting was quite an challenge, because it is unlike my usual painting techniques. I am very fond of the result whatsoever, and I feel like this is my favorite horse painting so far.

A particular nice part of this painting is the left side, with the flowing manes in all kind of colors. I love how well this side worked out, with all these manes, and white parts in between, which keeps the painting kind of calm, for as much as that is possible with so many different colors on one canvas.

I love the variation in colors, different from the original horse colors, and feel like this representation fits the horse species well!
