How to draw a brown horse with a white blaze – Day 13

This drawing is part of my 30-days drawing challenge, in which I’ll try to make a new drawing/painting daily.

Today, I came across a beautiful brown horse with a white blaze in the snow. I immediately decided it would be the subject of today’s drawing, even though it’s the middle of summer and there’s absolutely no snow.

I started sketching, which can be seen in the following video.

Unfortunately I forgot to record the further coloring of this horse 😭, so I haven’t got any photos/videos of the further making of this horse.

I tried to create a sense of snow using my brush with a little bit of white watercolor paint, trying to splash white “snowflakes” onto the drawing. Sadly that didn’t work out, because the white spots turned out too light to be seen. It was however very nice to try something new.
