Drawing a sturdy cantering horse – Day 9

This drawing is part of my 30-days drawing challenge, in which I’ll try to make a new drawing/painting daily.

Today I decided to draw another cantering horse, a very sturdy one this time. I might have wanted to do this slightly too fast, because I am not completely satisfied with the result, I find this horse drawing too rough.

I had a hard time sketching the legs because the example photo only showed half of them. The other half was covered by grass, so it was difficult to know how they should be positioned.

Though I am not completely satisfied I think this drawing did learn me some lessons. For example, that not all drawings have to be, and also can be perfect.
