Black and white horse – Day 14
This drawing is part of my 30-days drawing challenge, in which I’ll try to make a new drawing/painting daily.
Today I decided it was time for a new challenge, something I had been thinking about for a long time, but which I today finally did. I wanted to draw a horse in white on a black paper, to see if you can create beautiful drawings that way.
I decided to start with a cantering horse, so there I went.
I started off sketching the horse on the black paper, using a regular HB-pencil. My sketch was surprisingly good visible on the black page (in real life). However, on the video I made while drawing this horse, my sketch is barely visible on the black background.
When I was satisfied with the result I went on to trace my sketch with a white POSCA marker, and finished my drawing by adding some shadows (in white) and details, like spots.
The drawing process of this horse can be seen in this video.
The final result can be seen down here.
